4 Martial Arts Skills That Make You Feel Magnificently Good

Andrea karate updated52 is a significant number to me.

Is it the $52.00 dollars I need to buy something?  The 52 pairs of shoes that I’ve always wanted?  Is the 52 days I must wait before vacation?  Is it the 52 sun-drenched freckles on my face created by the Florida sky?

No, None of that.

This month I turn 52 years old.

I’ll be honest.  Aging is not all that exciting to me, but I don’t hate it either.  I’ve found a good balance of who I am and I’m active, busy, and productive.  All of those things mean a lot to me and they are how I live my life.  Aging is not as awful as I thought it would be.  I realize, though, that I’ve had a little help. I didn’t turn to plastic surgery or dying my hair.  That’s just not for me. Instead, I have the natural way for looking and feeling my best while passing the mid-line in my life, and that is martial arts.

Martial arts are a big category when it comes to bettering your life.  I’ve funneled what’s help me make each year of my life the best that it can be into four key factors.  Whatever your age, you have the opportunity to gain amazing life skills through the one-stop shop of martial arts.  This is not to say you cannot learn these benefits elsewhere, but the dojo is the one place that pulls them all together under one roof into a centralized you.

Thankfully 52 refers to my age and not to 52 things that you have to consider in order to have a magnificently good life.  That would be too difficult to ever make happen!  Four is a solid, strong number; four things that help turning 52 or any age feel pretty darn good:

1.  Balance

2.  Flexibility

3.  Fitness

4.  Positive Mindset

Listen to my podcast on why these four things are so important to me as I turn 52…and why they should be important to you, too.

And! I make a lifelong committment to practicing martial arts.

Enjoy…and Win at Life.

Andrea

  1. Happy Birthday, kiddo! 🙂

You exemplify all four of these skills and so much more. What’s more, 52 is a great number because it represents the number of weeks in a year. Which means, we now have 52 weeks to enjoy and learn even more awesome life lessons. You’re the best, Sensei! Take care, my friend.

  2. Happy birthday dear, you look half your age, and have turned into a lovely woman who knows what she wants out of life and will get it. Love you

  3. A very HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you Ms. Andrea! Congratulations on everything that you’ve accomplished and continued success in the future. Wishing good health and good times for you and your family. Cheers! All the best and full respect. 😎

Happy, happy, happy birthday and many happy returns!
This article is a good reminder that the bruises are worth it, LOL (I’m positively psychedelic with ’em right now). Just like in life, you get bruises but you keep on keeping on. Congratulations on staying fit, strong, balanced, positive, and YOUNG!
